All straws have a similar calorific value, Manco Energy Ltd have access to several types, including wheat, barley and Oilseed rape. This bi-product of arable farming has yet to be fully exploited as a fuel source. Energy grasses, such as Miscanthus and Reed Canary Grass combust in a similar way to straw, these are now considered sustainable alternative crops. |
